IISc scientists discover brain mechanism behind chemotherapy pain

Indian Institute of Science scientists have discovered how specific brain regions collaborate to manage chronic pain in mice, particularly from chemotherapy. Key findings show the lateral parabrachial nucleus significantly influences pain processing and response while signals from the lateral hypothalamus can reduce pain responses. These insights could improve chronic pain management for cancer patients.
